The Coming Over-Reach

There are times when predicting the future based on past results is just too easy.

Dan Pfeiffer, Obama's communication director, shares the perception that will ultimately lead to the Obama administrations 2nd term overstep: "There’s a moment of opportunity now that’s important. What’s frustrating is that we don’t have a political system or an opposition party worthy of the opportunity."

From The Washington Post

That Obama and his team underestimate their opposition is one thing. That they question the worth of our entire political system is entirely another.

To this administration, opposition does not have merit or basis. It is merely an annoying impediment to the agenda that they self-righteously assume correct. Questioning of the ideas flowing from their ivory towers of wisdom is disrespected and does not even merit answer.

Such blanket hubris is inevitably the precursor to their downfall. In 2008, Obama and Democrats overvalued their victories leading to their mid-term losses in 2010. Fresh off their razor-thin re-election in November 2012, Obama and his team are once again leaping headlong into rampant over-playing of their hand.

It appears that the President and his supporters have quickly forgotten the consequences of previous mistakes and are again on path for their soon-to-come retraction.
